The story behind KidzPaint.
Our story
KidzPaint is the children's arm of Sip and Paint .NG, the pioneer paint-and-sip experience in Lagos. For years our evenings looked the same in the best way: a room full of grown-ups, a stack of blank canvases, an instructor at the front, and two hours later everyone leaving with something they made themselves.
The requests came from those guests. Parents kept asking whether we could do the same thing for their children, and not a watered down version of it either. They wanted the real setup, the good venue, the proper materials, someone actually teaching.
So we built it. KidzPaint keeps the parts that made the adult sessions work, instructor-led from the first brushstroke, venue-first so the room itself is part of the day, and hospitality-heavy so families are looked after rather than processed. Then we rebuilt everything around children aged 2 to 15, from how long a session runs to how the tables are laid out and how many adults are in the room.
Today we run across Lagos and Abuja, in restaurants, hotels, gardens, rooftops and our own studio in Victoria Island, for birthdays, family weekends, school groups and weekly clubs.
Why we do this
A painting session is rarely only about the painting. It is about a child sitting with an idea for an hour and a half, being trusted with real materials, and finishing something they can carry out of the room. We have watched quiet kids talk, and busy kids settle, over a canvas.

One staff member to every five children
That ratio is our floor, not our best case. Larger reservations get more staff, not thinner cover.
Big sessions get a full team
Our largest remote sessions run at around 80 children and go out with a team of ten, so no child is waiting for help.
Hired on experience, kept for years
We hire instructors who have already worked with children, and our team averages more than three years with us.
Non-toxic paint, aprons provided
Every material that reaches a child's hands is child-safe, and aprons come with the session so clothes go home fine.

I'm a big kid myself. I've always loved crafting, creating, setting goals and watching them come through, and KidzPaint let me build a place where children get to do exactly that. It was built for kids to be part of the experience in a real, friend and family way, not just spectators to it. We wanted to nurture that same sense of community our grown-up guests already had, kids are growing and developing every day, and we knew a fun, hands-on session could become a genuine skill booster too.
