Kids art classes in Lagos

Instructor-led art sessions for children, running every week across Lagos Island and the Mainland. Book a one-off class at any venue, join a weekly club, or sign up for an afterschool term. Materials, aprons and clean-up are ours to worry about.

One-off classes and ongoing programmes

Some families book a single Saturday, others want something in the calendar every week. Both work. A one-off class is booked venue by venue on this page. For something regular, the weekly clubs and the afterschool term run to a fixed schedule.

  • Saturdays Club with KP, Saturdays 9AM to 1PM at The Side Bar, Lekki
  • Comic Club, Saturdays 3PM to 6PM at Alali Studio, Victoria Island
  • Family Friendly Saturdays at The Atrium, Ikeja
  • Roots and Rhymes, the afterschool programme
  • Holiday camps at Easter, summer and Christmas

What your child will actually learn

Classes are built around technique rather than colouring in. Children work through composition, colour mixing, brush control, line and texture, and in the clay and craft formats they learn to work with a process that cannot be rushed. Every class ends with a finished piece they made and can explain.

  • Canvas painting, watercolour, drawing and sketching, textured art
  • Pottery, hand casting, paper mache and candle making
  • Tote bag painting, tie dye, jewellery making and cake decoration

Ratios, safety and drop-off

Sessions are staffed so that no child is left waiting for help. Ages 2 to 6 need a parent or caregiver in the room. From age 7 children can be dropped off and collected. All paints and materials used with children are non-toxic and washable.

Free classes every Sunday

Silent Book Club Jr. runs free every Sunday at 2PM, and Chess Hour runs free every Sunday at 3PM. Both are open to families who have never booked with us before.
